The Saturn Banks Pipeline System (SBPS) currently exports gas from the Blythe and Elgood fields to the Saturn Banks Onshore Reception Facilities (SBRF) at Bacton, and onwards to the adjacent Perenco-Operated gas terminal. Gas export from the Southwark field has not happened. Further phases of development are envisaged from other fields.

All field assets and infrastructure are owned by various IOG subsidiaries (50%) and CalEnergy Resources (UK) Limited (50%). IOG affilates are the 'Field Operators', supported by appointed Installation and Pipeline Operators acting on behalf of IOG.

The Blythe field has been developed via two production wells from a two-slot Normally Unattended Installation (NUI). The Elgood field has been developed via a single subsea well, which is tied back to the Blythe NUI via a 9.2km 6” subsea flowline (PL4955) and associated umbilical (PU5039). From the Blythe NUI, wet gas is exported via the 24.5km 12” Blythe Field Export Pipeline (PL4956) and onwards through the 28.5km 24” SBPS (PL5079) to the SBRF.

The Southwark field has been developed via two wells from a four-slot NUI, tied back to the SBPS via a 6.0km 24” spurline and a 31.3km 24” repurposed line, collectively known as the Southwark Field Export Pipeline (PL5152). The wells were deemed sub-commercial and the platform has capacity for third party tie-backs. We are investigating the possiblity of produced water handling at Southwark.

Ullage of 160 before Blythe/Elgood production MMscf/d gas is available via the SBPS/SBRF, with greater capacity achievable depending upon the selected Entry Point and requested water handling capabilities, subject to flow assurance analyses. The fields are currently producing in their high pressure (free flowing) phase, with onshore compression anticipated after ca. three years of production.
