Overview

IOG has a 50% operated working interest in licence P2260 to the west of Blythe containing the Elgood discovery (Block 48/22c), which was awarded in the 28th licensing round and is being developed alongside Blythe and Southwark as part of our Phase 1 development. The remaining 50% interest is held by CalEnergy Resources (UK) Limited (CER).

Please see page 10 of the Annual Report 2022 for a statement of reserves & resources.

History

The Elgood Field was discovered in 1991 by well 48/22-4, drilled by Enterprise Oil, but was not progressed to development due to its perceived size and gas prices at that time.

It is a good quality Rotliegend Leman sandstone reservoir that tested gas to surface at rates in excess of 17 MMscfd. Gas was also tested from the Hauptdolomit interval 700 feet above the Leman interval but at low rates without stimulation.

Development

Elgood is being co-developed with Blythe as a single subsea well tied back to the unmanned platform and producing well at Blythe.

Final Investment Decision (FID) on Elgood was declared in October 2019 as part of the Phase 1 FID. The Phase 1 Field Development Plan (FDP) was approved by the UK government in April 2020 and First Gas was achieved in Q1 2022.
