Overview

IOG has a 50% operated working interest in the Southwark field, with the remaining 50% interest held by CalEnergy Resources (UK) Limited (CER).

History

Southwark was discovered by Conoco Phillips in 2000.

Development

The field lies 30-45km east of the Blythe Hub and is part of the Phase 1 development. The Field Development Plan assumes three horizontal hydraulically stimulated wells to be drilled at Southwark from a Normally Unmanned Installation platform.

 

The Environmental Impact Assessment for the Southwark field, which is part of the Phase 1 development, was approved by the UK government in April 2020.

First gas on the Phase 1 development was achieved in Q1 2022.

Public Consultation on the Southwark Pipeline ES

The Environmental Statement for the Southwark 24” Pipeline Installation was submitted to OPRED in April 2021, and was issued for statutory and public consultation from the 1st May to 31st May 2021.

Under Regulation 12 (5) IOG have been requested by the Secretary of State to publish further information with respect to the project, see below. Further representation may be made to the Secretary of State by 10/04/2022.
